上椎葉ダム について

Japan's first arch dam, completed in 1955. Located 2 km upstream on the Mimi River from Kamishiiha. It is 110 m high, 341 m long and has an effective drop-off of 144 m. The total construction cost was 13.6 billion yen and a total workforce of 5 million people was mobilised to build it. Lake Hyuga Shiiba, the dam lake of Shiiba Dam, was named by writer Eiji Yoshikawa. The beautiful seasonal scenery is one of Shiiba's most popular tourist attractions.
