About the historical oral journey
The Tonegawa area, located in the northern part of Shiiba Village, is the original landscape of a good old Japanese mountain village itself. Terraced fields spread out on the steep mountain sides and old houses stand side by side on stone walls. The 800-year-old cedar tree in the precincts of Tonegawa Shrine, to which Tonegawa Kagura (Shinto music and dance) is dedicated, and the legend of Nasu Daihachiro remain. The entire village has been selected as a 'National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings'.

八村杉
椎葉村大字下福良十根川の利根川神社の境内にある、推定樹齢800年の大杉。樹高54.4ｍ、根回り19ｍ。別名「十根の杉」とも言われ、平家討伐のために椎葉村に赴いた那須大八郎宗久が植えたと伝えられている。昭和10年6月7日国指定天然記念物。

十根川の臼太鼓踊り
11月～12月、十根川神社にて不定期開催。演目は、神の踊・都下り、若殿様・神木屋・錆刀・富士の巻狩など。

大久保のヒノキ
椎葉村大字下福良字大久保にあるヒノキの大木。樹高32ｍ、根回り9.3ｍ、樹冠東西32ｍ、南北30ｍ。無数の支幹が主幹に絡みつくようにそびえている。平成6年3月2日国指定天然記念物。
