八村杉 について

A large cedar, estimated to be 800 years old, located in the precincts of the Tunegawa Shrine in Oaza Shimofukura Tunegawa, Shiiba Village. It is 54.4 m high and has a root girth of 19 m. Also known as 'June-no-Sugi', it is said to have been planted by Nasu Daihachiro Munehisa, who went to Shiiba Village to defeat the Heike clan. Designated a national natural monument on 7 June 1935.
