About 'livelihoods' in Shiiba Village

In addition to slash-and-burn agriculture, which is the only example of its kind in Japan and is designated as a World Agricultural Heritage Site under the "Intermountain Agroforestry Complex System of Takachiho Township and Mount Shiiba", Shiiba is home to a variety of traditional livelihoods, including forestry, shiitake mushrooms and hunting. In recent years, the honey collected by Japan's native honey bees has also become a hot topic.
